Among NFL traditions, few have been as consistent as this: A team surveys its schedule, notes the presence of the New Orleans Saints on it and, mentally at least, chalks up an automatic victory.
That won't be the case this year.
For one of the few times in their largely lackluster history, a win against the Saints will be a benchmark accomplishment. The defending NFC South champions are coming off a stellar 10-6 season that saw them get within one game of their first Super Bowl.
Which also means the Saints are, for a change, in the position of being the hunted, not the hunter.
