Saints sign Lance Legree

New Orleans - The New Orleans Saints on Tuesday announced the signing of veteran defensive linemen Lance Legree and Anton Palepoi, along with rookie free agent linebacker Desmond Sims.

All three players participated in last weekend's minicamp on a tryout basis, Saints General Manager Mickey Loomis said.

Legree, a five-year veteran out of Notre Dame, has played in 76 regular season games -- starting 25 -- since breaking into the league with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent in 2001. The 6-1, 300-pound defensive tackle has 90 career tackles and seven sacks while playing for the Giants and the New York Jets.
