I'm surprised no one else has brought this up, but Saints QB Drew Brees was injured in Saturday's Pro Bowl game. According to the New Orleans Times-Picayune, "Drew Brees lived every player's Pro Bowl nightmare Saturday, dislocating his left elbow on his second series as the NFC starting quarterback en route to a 31-28 loss to the AFC all-stars." This is the danger of the Pro Bowl... I'd love to get your reactions to this.

The Pro bowl is pointless. They are jeopardizing their careers to play a game that means nothing. If they want to honor them for their season, just call them all-pro and give them a trophy. If they must have a game, make it flag football. It would still get televised and be a ratings disaster it usually is anyway.

I agree... I never watch the Pro Bowl. It's silly. The main thing is to give these guys a vacation in Hawaii, and oh yeah, play a football game no one really cares about. The season ends with the Super Bowl. Like they were saying on Mike & Mike this morning, some of these guys went six weeks between games. It's only a matter of time before this game goes away, I bet.

He should recover in time for next season, but if he didn't that would be a huge blow to the Saint's. I would hate it if someone on my team got injured in this completely meaningless game.

If he were to miss any time next season, watch how many players skip the Pro Bowl next season, either of their own volition or at the behest of their coaches/teams. Heck, things might get so bad we could actually see Michael Vick at QB for the NFC!
