| Saints Playoff Tickets Saints Playoff Tickets When it comes to seeing their team play in the postseason, some fans have been blessed with a plethora of opportunities throughout the years. Those who have had New Orleans Saints playoff tickets? They haven't been so blessed. The franchise was founded in 1967, and it took a full two decades before the team won enough regular season games to qualify for the NFL's championship tournament. In 1987, the Saints went 12-3, good for second place in the NFC West and a trip to the Wild Card game. Unfortunately, the team lose to the Vikings in their first playoff contest, a trend that would sadly continue for many years. The "Aints" as they came to be known, a nickname earned for their futility, went on to lose Wild Card Playoff game in 1990, 1991 and 1992 as well, and then went on to post no better than a .500 record for the next seven seasons. But as 1999 ended and an new millennium dawned, the New Orleans football franchise was finally about to experience a change of fortune. Saints Playoff Tickets: A Win At Last In 2000, those who purchased Saints playoff tickets finally went away smiling. Prior to the start of the season, New Orleans owner Tom Benson fired general manager Bill Kuharich and head coach Mike Ditka, replacing them with Randy Mueller and Jim Haslett, respectively. The results were immediate, and Haslett and Mueller acquired QB Aaron Brooks, DT Norman Hand and six other free agents. The team started 1-3, but went on to win six in a row at one point en route to a 10-6 record and just their second division title in franchise history. The were just the seventh team in league history to go from last place to division champion in a single season. However, unlike in previous seasons, the 2000 New Orleans Saints weren't content with just reaching the NFL's second season. They wanted a win, and a win they got, beating the St. Louis Rams 31-28 at the Superdome as Brooks threw four touchdown passes. A lot has changed since then for the Saints. New faces have come and gone, both on the field and on the sidelines, but one thing that won't change - the days of the "Aints" are over, and the New Orelans football club is and will continue to be a force to recon with in the playoff hunt each and every year.
