| Re: Sean Payton - NFL Coach of the Year? Yeah, I know it's a little early to be talking about postseason awards, but as of right now, Sean Peyton of the Saints HAS to be the top candidate for NFL Coach of the Year, right? I mean, check out the article up there and look at the kind of approach he took towards rebuilding the New Orleans franchise. Watching tape to find guys who never stopped trying to win, trading Stallworth to help his defense AND replacing him with Colston, the team's leading receiver... Peyton has done a masterful job resurrecting this franchise. In my mind, the ONLY other possible candidate is Lovey Smith. What do you think?

| Re: Sean Payton - NFL Coach of the Year? Yesterday, Payton was named Coach of the First Half by McClatchy Newspapers. According to their article, "Payton is only 42 years old. He was an NFL assistant only nine seasons, including four as a coordinator. Yet, he has taken a Saints team that has had only seven winning seasons and one playoff victory in its previous 39 seasons and turned it into a contender." You agree with the selection? |

| Yes. Not only is Sean Payton a very nice man, having met him a few times in my life, I know that he is VERY deserving of coach of the year. No other coach this season has turned a team around like Payton has. Payton's dedication to his team and to doing only the best for his players makes him one of a kind. Yes, Eric Mangini turned the Jets around and Parcells had to deal with T.O.. But face it, a bunch of other coaches had to deal with TO too and you don't see them winning coach of the year because of one player. Coach of the year, in my mind, is a coach who defies all stereotypes and conquers the unthinkable. Coach Sean Payton has done those two things PLUS many more hands down. Payton WILL be Coach of the Year. |
