LAS VEGAS, July 13 -- Ron Hale came off the bench to spark the Phoenix Suns to a 94-86 win over the New Orleans Hornets Friday afternoon at the COX Pavilion. Hale scored a game-high 25 points (9-13 FG, 5-5 FT) in just 23 minutes of play.
The Suns used a 10-0 run at the end of the second quarter to gain control of the game and lead 55-45 at halftime. Their biggest lead of the game (13) came at the 2:54 mark of the fourth quarter when they lead 90-77.
Second round pick DJ Strawberry had a nice game for the Suns, contributing 13 points (4-13 FG, 5-9 FT) on a nice collection of drives to the basket. He also dished out a game-high nine assists.
“I’m just having fun,” Strawberry said of his play. “I am enjoying playing here in the summer league, I am just trying to come out and play hard.”
