Despite having the ammo to trade up in the draft, or possibly trade for an established veteran, the Nets will hang onto their picks. So who do you see the Nets selecting?
Quote:
The New Jersey Nets still aren't sure what direction they will go in when it's time for them to make a selection in Thursday's draft because they have no idea what the nine teams that pick ahead of them will do.
But what the team's front-office tandem of president Rod Thorn and general manager Kiki Vandeweghe seem certain of is that they will be holding onto their three picks — two in the first round and one in the second — as opposed to trading any of them away.
Thorn said Tuesday that he has gotten offers to trade the 10th and 21st picks for an established player but that he has held off because none of the offers has been appealing. He also said it's unlikely that the Nets will make a trade — including one involving any of their established players — before or during the draft. However, Thorn left open the possibility that anything can change at any time.
