Cool Kidd on his way out

Quote:
To get Jason Kidd out of his life, Rod Thorn would’ve traded him yesterday. The relationship between the team president and superstar has deteriorated into bitter acrimony. Once, they were golfing buddies and confidants and now, sources say, they can barely stand to sit on opposite ends of the team bus.

“It’s really bad,” said a league source close to Thorn and Kidd.

Kidd wants out, he says. This has been the story for a year. His agent, Jeff Schwartz, has asked Thorn again.

Truth be told, Thorn had to understand that he and Kidd passed a point of no return on the December night his superstar sent a text message in the early afternoon to say a migraine would keep him out of a game with the New York Knicks. Publicly, Thorn defended Kidd, but privately he seethed.

He knew the truth: Kidd bailed on the New Jersey Nets.

Thorn should’ve started soliciting offers that night, but that’s happening now. Kidd is on the way out, another acrimonious parting as had been the case with him in Dallas and Phoenix.

“Ownership was stopping this from happening, but even they’ve thrown their hands up and said, “OK, find a deal,’ ” a league source close to Nets management said.

That's step 1. Does anybody think they'll find some sucker to take Vince Carter off their hands, too? They never should have extended him.

Re: Kidd on his way out

I doubt they'd be that lucky. Well, unless they call Isiah Thomas.

Word is Lebron's lobbying to bring Kidd to Cleveland. I don't know how likely that is, but if he's the kind of guy to fake injury to bail on his teammates, I don't want him.

I'm sure Kobe will be interested. LeBron just wants someone else period. The Nets will go back into the tank once Kidd is gone.

Welcome aboard! So you think the Lakers will get involved in this?

I heard that too,but they would have to give too many players to be able to afford him. Who would the Nets want. I would think Varajao, Hughes, and Gibson for a start. If they would take Jones and Marshall, I would be happy.

Actually, Thorn did try to pawn of Carter on the Knicks. From the article:
Quote:
Thorn has tried to trade Carter – offering him to the Knicks in a package for Jamal Crawford – but no one wants him.

Wow, color me surprised that the Knicks didn't bite. If even the Knicks don't want you, you're in trouble.

Re: Kidd on his way out

Kidd could go to the Spurs and they wouldn't win a title. He will never win anything-justice for his throwing games while at Cal.

Cool Re: Kidd on his way out

It sounds like it is going to be Dallas.

Quote:
The New Jersey Nets are in serious negotiations with the Dallas Mavericks and Portland Trail Blazers about a blockbuster three-way trade that would send Jason Kidd to the Mavericks, league sources said Wednesday afternoon.

In the proposed trade, Dallas and Portland would send the Nets a package that includes the Mavs' Devean George and Jerry Stackhouse and Blazers forwards Travis Outlaw and Channing Frye and guard Jarrett Jack. Mavericks point guard Devin Harris would be sent to Portland. Along with Kidd, the Nets would send reserve forward Malik Allen and center Jamaal Magloire to Dallas

This trade is making my head spin. Somebody please analyze for it me.

Latest word is that Kidd wants to go to Dallas, but no trade is imminent, according to the New York Daily News.
