Could a trade that would send Jason Kidd to the Lakers still happen?

According to the Chicago Tribune, "Bryant has talked about requesting a trade from the Lakers since the end of last season and talks favorably about playing with Kidd, meaning he could return to L.A. after this tournament pushing for such a trade again." So apparently Kobe would still like Kidd to come out to L.A. Any chance this trade actually happens?

If Kidd goes, even though he's on the other side of his career, the Nets would need something big to accept it. Without him, are they a playoff team? He's still the undisputed leader of the team.

I think some team will gamble with a #1 pick...and the Nets will have to weigh their options on what the draft has to offer...
