Spezza & Heatley

OTTAWA (CP) - There was a time when Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley wouldn't have been on the ice for the Ottawa Senators in the final minute of a one-goal game... But there the young stars were in Game 3 of the NHL Eastern Conference semifinal against New Jersey earlier this week, holding off the Devils and teaming to score an empty-net goal to secure a 2-0 win and a 2-1 lead in the best-of-seven series... And they may be there again if the same situation arises in Game 4 on Wednesday night at Scotiabank Place... The two Ottawa offensive engines have gained the trust of coach Bryan Murray to play at times when defence is the team's top priority.

New-found defensive discipline has Spezza, Heatley on ice in hot moments

Re: Spezza & Heatley

3-2 win for Ottawa, and what would Ottawa be without heatley and Spezza? - they'd just have to rely on no-goods like Alfredsson and Fisher and Vermette and defense from bums like Phillips and Redden and Volchenkov and then there's that waste of space Emery.
This is killing me. Admitting these Senators are good- killing me.
I've never seen the Devils look so uninspiring. So the whole furor over that puck over the team bench and how Lou lamoriello said it was in the bench and Murray complained it went over the glass and should have resulted in a penalty against jersey - the refs decide it's not a penalty and they go to tell Murray - and what player can't keep sticking his face in, getting his two cents in? natter natter, complain complain - Neil. i tell you, the Most Annoying Player Like A Mosquito is close between Avery and neil, but Neil is winning.
Speaking of lamoriello - maybe he should have hung onto julien, in this now moment of almost desperation.

ur tellin me!! they do worry me a little, but i just wish the devils would play a little better hockey. and to think sabres fans are aggravated - just think of how devils, or red wing fans feel! theyre both hanging on for their lives kinda like buffalo. every1 is mad that the best teams arent playing their best right now, i no it. i mean, detroit just tied up the series with an OT win! its disappointing. but i still think the sabres r gonna get it going next game.
yeah, neil is DEFINITELY winning in the Most Annoying Player category...and i think they should give an award for The Biggest, Baddest, Most Unliked Bully. hed win that in a heartbeat. i rly hate him prob the most out of any of the players. him and the rest of his squad are ignorant, whiny babies, and its only a matter of time before they crumble. they dont have what it takes to beat the western teams, or buffalo, for that matter.
im still hopeful for a major jersey comeback. hey, it could happen.

Re: Spezza & Heatley

an upset and a half
i was expecting new jersey to give ottawa a run for their money - i thought brodeur would stay solid in net and keep up his reputation
not so far, at least
still, im hopeful for a new jersey comeback, the ones like u c in the movies
i mean, who knows? brodeur could come out of his shell, prove the sens wrong (hopefully), and mayb the new jersey offense would get its a**es going
