Brodeur NHL shutout record

Martin Brodeur doesn't own the NHL career shutout record just yet, but at the rate he's going, he may someday. Brodeur beat Columbus, 1-0, on Saturday for his 83rd career shutout. According to the AP, that moves the Devils netminder "into sole possession of fourth place on the NHL list, one ahead of Hall of Famer Jacques Plante and one shy of Glenn Hall for third place." How many more shutouts does Brodeur have left in him, do you think?

Part Brodeur's career came at a time Greatxy, mario, Hull, Bure and others where putting the puck in the net at a record pace...makes him all that more amazing.

I would not be too worried about it, if Hasek gives up more than 1 tonight...you will take both categories...I have more skaters going...so I need a few Power plays and a Hasek win to counter...I had my eye on Cleary cause he could play LW/RW but I couldn't commit to dropping Neil who gets me penalty minutes...O'neill is a good drop...he was playing over his career marks...he could only come down...its all math...

Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

It was a difficult decision, though, because of all the injuries. O'Neill is on Sundin's line, which could only give him more points (it's actually worked more in Steens favour lately though). Then, Ponikarovsky is out for a couple of weeks, so what about dropping him?
Still, I made the choice.
I'm hanging onto brodeur.

Cool Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

Brodeur got another one tonight against the Isles. Brodeur has started 55 of the 57 Devils' games this year.

Cool Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

Brodeur never seems like he's tired. Mike Dunham said it seems like every time he plays, he seems like he's coming off a rest.

Cool Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

Any chance Brodeur will rest tonight against the Islanders? My guess would be none.

Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

I'd say, No.
Clemmensen is 0-1-1, .871 save percentage with 3.6 GAA. He's 30, too, he's not some young up and comer learning from the master, although most goalies do get better with age.
I wonder if the guy ever got ice time, if he might have better numbers.
I wonder if he likes Brodeur. i wonder if brodeur even knows who he is.

Cool Re: Brodeur NHL shutout record

Brodeur shut out the Islanders for the 3rd time this year in 6 games and if Miroslav Satan wouldn't have scored in another game with :01 to go, he would have had 4 shutouts. It's really like the Devils toy with the Islanders. Even when they were down only 1-0, last night, I knew they weren't winning the game.

wow does he ever have your number.
maybe you need to trash talk him, like bring up his various and sundry infidelities - or the one everyone was talking about, anyway. get him distracted.
