Man says stranger pays his debt to Brady

A convicted bank robber who says he had to panhandle to repay a debt to New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady has had his debt erased by a local businessman.
Dennis Paiva was ordered by a court to pay $4,000 after selling Brady's expensive flower boxes for scrap metal, mistakenly believing they'd been put behind Brady's Boston condominium as trash in May 2008.
Dan Greenwald, the owner of a Burlington ad agency, said he decided to pay the restitution after reading about Paiva's plight in the Boston Herald on Friday.
Greenwald said it seemed as if Paiva, who says he can't work because of recent surgery, got "the rawest of raw deals."
The 61-year-old Paiva said Greenwald's gift was like "a dream come true."

Re: Man says stranger pays his debt to Brady

It think Paiva is a piece of crap thief who should be back in jail .... and Greenwald is a moron for bailing him out

Just what sort of example is this setting ? ... its ok to screw up because some rich moron will bail you out ?

as for the Brady angle ....... I dont think he really plays into it ....... from what i read about it, it seems he doesnt live there or anything .. seems like it is a rental he owns .... and he wasnt involved in going after the thief

Re: Man says stranger pays his debt to Brady

a REAL QB like Elway, Marino, Montana or Bradshaw would have never bought $4,000 flower boxes to begin with....wtf?.... Brady has more dollars then cents!

If I were Brady...I never would have let this story get out..I just would have bought new flower pots.... Also didn't Brady have an accident a few weeks ago on the water in a canoe and he had to be saved by some chick?
Gee and I thought Romo was light in the cleats !!

Now wait a minute. Why should Paiva be back in jail? Because he took some flower pots from the trash to sell them for the iron or whatever? Times are hard. He has a record and cant find a job. Apparently he also had surgery and couldnt work anyway. So how did he screw up in this scenario and deserve punishment?
And if he is any kind of a landlord, Brady knew about it even if he wasnt actively involved in it.
So Paiva was begging for money to pay off his debt because he couldnt work.
The rich dude read about it in a Boston newspaper and felt the guy got a bad break. So he paid his debt. (of course he got a little free newscoverage out of it and that didnt hurt his business any---)
Not to break anyone's bubble about their hero or anything, but I read Brady can be somewhat of a jerk off the field.
As for $4000 flower pots, thats obscene.

He will never make the "all-madden team". No matter what he does now he can't get that title
