Cassel To The Chiefs

ok im not an ESPN Insider ..... but on their site there is a headline that a rumor has surfaced that Cassel may be headed to the Kansas City Chiefs

not sure just yet how i feel about this possibility .... guess it depends on several things ..... how is Brady doing ... who would be the new back-up .... what would we get for Cassel

Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

Could be a good place for him to get a permanent starting position

Yeah but that Pats don't want to lose him... he has proven he can step in place of Brady in case bad things happen.

Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

I thought the Chiefs were happy with who they had. Thigpen?
But Cassel would definitely be a bonus.
I havent been checking lately so dont know if this could be a good possibility or not.

Thumbs down Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

No way that the Patriots will let him go. Tom Brady isn't even sure that he'll be ready for the upcoming season. If i were the Patriots.. (and as much as i hate them xDD) i wouldnt do it. Theres no point.

Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

Why is everyone so big on Cassel all of a sudden? Think about it-

The Pats were an undefeated team the season before, and made it to the Super Bowl. Then Cassel took over and they didn't even make the play-offs. Does that not show how big Brady is too that team? And how bad it was that Cassel took over?

every year there are teams that make the Super Bowl and the next season dont even make the playoffs ..... with the same players .... so no i dont think it says something bad about Cassel

The Patriots aren't one of those teams. They consitently make play-offs and Super Bowls. Suddenly Tom Brady is injured, and then Matt Cassel and the Pats miss the play-offs.

You also have to look at what happened in the league. The team had 11 wins and didn't make it because of the way things fell in their conference. If Brady had been there and only had 11 wins it would have been the same result.

I think he would have had more wins though.

Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

I'm sold on Cassel quite yet, he'd been in that system for so long, he knew how to run that offense, I don't know how he works out any where else that's not the Bellicheck-McDaniels offense or even a West Coast offense.

Now for KC I think he is the wrong guy, I like Thigpen as crazy as that sounds, I say they give Tyler Thigpen one more year then draft a QB on day one of the Draft and they should be fine

Re: Cassel To The Chiefs

I'm still thinking Matt Cassel is unproven and definitely worse than Brady. Brady went 16-0 then the next season, very similar team, Cassel don't even make the play-offs. Why does everyone think he is so good? He was a back-up in college as well.
