Will Pats be as dominant in AFC east this season?

With all the off season moves the Pats are seen as more human and beatable. They kept Randy Moss but the loss of Dante Stallworth will hurt especially when facing teams with a good pass rush and a strong secondary. The defense lost Asante Samuels and Randall Gay and the rest of the defense is not getting any younger.
Internal problems are not all the Pats need to deal with. Both the Bills and the Jets have bolstered their defensive line and offensive line respectively.
The AFC should be more intriguing this season.

Actually, I dont see them being quite as dominant as they were either. Do you think they will be?

Re: Will Pats be as dominant in AFC east this season?

Well they have all those draft picks to use so they can replace the players they lost. I honestly think the stigma of 18-1 is going to haunt them in 2008 more than the loss of any players. That whole organization seemed traumatized after losing the Super Bowl to the Giants.

Re: Will Pats be as dominant in AFC east this season?

My initial guess is that they will not be as dominant as they were this year. For th e1st half of the season last year they were unstoppable. In the 2nd half I think there was more information out there as to how they played. This season teams will be more ready for them. I don't expect them to have a losing season but no doubt there will be some losses sprinkled in among the victories. As for the Super Bowl ... who really knows. In theory it should not have gone that way according to stats, but numbers are only defined after the fact. They do not guarantee the future.

Maybe not quite as dominant, but close. Sure, they've lost some people. But really, who's even close to catching them in the AFC East?

No they wont be, I think the Jets will over take the east. They lost some key players, and w/o them they will lose.

That's quite a prediction. It will be interesting to come back to this next year, and see if you were right.

Bold, bold prediction. So who's going to be the QB and the RB that leads them to this great feat?

Yes the Pats will be dominate, it doesn't matter who they lose along as it's not Belichick or Brady.

As far as the Jets go, they brought in some good pieces, but as Lefty said they have no skill players.

I'm all for bold predictions Seahawker. I am with you all the way on this one.
I generally keep track of these kind of predictions. If we lose, I wont mention it, ok?

Yeah .... hold your breath on that one. I've already got a sticky note on my desk concerning this thread.

Re: Will Pats be as dominant in AFC east this season?

The New York Jets who went 4-12 last year? How are they gonna win the east? On Chad Pennigton's arm? The non-existent running game? That red sea defense? Mangini's ultra-conservative coaching? Just because they signed a few 30 something free agents you can't hand them the AFC East crown over a team that went 16-0 last year. Frankly I think the Jets should be happy if they can win second because I have the Bills slotted for that spot.

That is the thing all of the good QBs are gone now, they're stuck with what they got and what they have is a 8-8 or 9-7.
