Pats sign CB Webster

With cornerbacks Asante Samuel and Randall Gay leaving as free agents, the New England Patriots began rebuilding their secondary on Tuesday by signing cornerback Jason Webster. The 5-foot-9, 187-pound Webster has 393 tackles and 11 interceptions in 87 career games, 74 of them starts.
He played in one game last season for Buffalo before being placed on the reserve/injured list with an arm injury on Sept. 13.

Coach Belichick says Webster is a veteran who will add depth to the secondary.

Re: Pats sign CB Webster

Well, they needed somebody in the secondary. Webster's a bit of a downgrade from what the had, but he's serviceable.

That's pretty much what I thought.
It doesnt seem like there are that many really great ones anymore. The ones that are there are all getting older and mostly leaning on their reputations.
