Pats donate

The Associated Press reports the NFL donated 290 New England Patriots hats and an equal number of team jerseys with the slogans "Super Bowl Champions, 19-0" to impoverished children from two small communities in southern Nicaragua.

Guess they had all these made up before the superbowl, but couldnt sell them, so they just dumped them all off in nicaragua

Re: Pats donate

They always make up shirts and hats for both teams so they have them for the post game celebration. Thye usually just destroy the losing teams items.

its a logical step given the situation .... any other team would have done the same thing

"dumped" seems a bit harsh .... they could have thrown these shirts out but instead decided to donate them to people less fortunate ....... im not sure how that turns out to be a bad thing

Re: Pats donate

They do the same thing every year. I wish they sold the loosing team's jerseys, then donated the money, or bought more cloths with the money. Probably the only way I'd ever get a Bears Superbowl T shirt.

Re: Pats donate

Yeah, pretty sure this is a longstanding thing. Still, it's a wonderful gesture. I'm sure the people who need the clothes could care less what it says on them.
