| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI I had no problem wiht the first incident. I didn't feel that it was cheating. What they were filming could have been gotten just by watching the game film. Coordinators in the booth have people that take snapshots of the opposing teams lineups during the game. They can get the same info. I do feel that if this new allegation is proven it should have repercussions. That is blatent cheating breaking into another teams practice and filming them As for them being tarnished....not this year. They have been under a microscope all year. They did not cheat at all to win these 18 games so far. Their legacy is intact.

| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI Here is some of Drew Bledsoes comments on the whole deal. Bledsoe suggests that the scandal has been overplayed and that stealing signals always will be part of the game. As a freshman at Washington State, he received an award from his coaches after he stole offensive calls from the sideline in a win over California; he had been able to figure out when Cal was going to run, pass or screen pass. "Listen, that kind of stuff has been going on for as long as there have been video cameras," Bledsoe says of the accusations against the Patriots. "I know people are trying to make this out like this is some huge scandal, but it is at every level. You talk about college, you talk about high school -- people are taping stuff, and that is what they do. And they try and gain an advantage that way. And that is what the Patriots were doing." [+] Enlarge AP Photo/Beth A. KeiserDrew Bledsoe, Tom Brady's backup in Super Bowl XXXVI, says he isn't aware of any foul play. As for where teams cross the line of fair play, he says, "It is a pretty fuzzy line. Like in other realms in the world, in the business world, when you get into a highly competitive environment, people are going to try and do what they can get away with. That is not unique to football." Another former Patriots quarterback, who spoke to ESPN.com on condition of anonymity, says that New England pushes the envelope further than most teams and that the Patriots were doing so long before they were caught in September. The whole article can be found here, on ESPN. Kurt Warner also has some good points. Either way, this thing isn't going away. I suspect that after this season is over, the NFL will have to look into this mess. ESPN - Ex-Ram Warner wants NFL to expand probe of Patriots - NFL |

| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI Definitely agree with what Warner says in the article: "You would think that if they do an investigation for the integrity of the game, that they would try to do everything possible. And maybe they did, and they just missed it. But as a purist and someone who wants to see the integrity of the game stay where it is, it is a little disappointing that they didn't [look] under every rock to figure this out and to do something to make sure it doesn't happen again." If you're going to do an investigation, do it right. Don't just make a show of it, put some real effort into it and find out the truth, one way or another.

| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI Quote:
This is going to turn this sport upside down and inside out maybe. It does seem as though the Pats have pushed the envelope a bit, but I still say it happens all the time. Just a question: If I watch the center all the time and I figure out that he is going to snap the ball just after he twitches his eyes, and so make a defensive move against it, is that cheating? If its not, how is diff from Bledsoe figuring out the opponents moves, or someone reading lips? I am getting the message here that most are saying that these things are cheating. If they can get the same thing from watching the game film then why is it cheating filming? And as Bledsoe says, how are we going to define the line of fair play if we decide somethings are cheating and some not. And how do we know that this isnt all part of a plan to discredit the Pats? I am NOT defending anyone here. I would just like to get at the truth and find some answers.

| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI Just a matter of perception. If I was going to wish for the impossible I'd want just the opposite. |

| Re: Patriots Filmed Rams Practice Before SB XXXVI So are you for it or not ?? You're using the NFL as an excuse to give a waffling answer. |
