And that is where "Mr. Law & Order" AKA "Mr. Rulebook" can separate the issues. When the Vick ordeal was going on I was vocal, as many others were, BUT .... he has been penalized and if, when he has paid his debt to society, he wants to make a return to football ... then so be it. I may not care for him as a person but I'm not gonna run with it forever.

There have been allegations of the pats cheating by three other teams other than the Jets.
Packers, Lions, Bills. The NFL has confirmed the cheating in Green Bay last year.
I cant really understand why they would want to cheat against Green Bay last year, or the Jets, Lions, Bills this year. Makes no sense.

The sky is going to come crashing down here, but I kind of side with LSC. Its over and done with. I really cant see any advantage in cheating against the aforementioned teams, and I know they arent the only team to take advantage of things.
But I still dont like Belichick.

While it is possible for Vick to return to football, it's highly improbable, that after two years away from the game, and the fact that he a publicity nightmare, any team will touch him with a ten foot pole. His career is over. What he did is horrible, I would never defend him, but what he did, had nothing to do with the game of football. If players get caught using steroids they should be gone forever, not a just get a 4 game suspension, but at least that's something. Belichick got caught cheating. Only repercussion was a fine. That's not right. Maybe what gets my shorts in such a bind about all this is the unfairness in punishment of white collar/ blue collar crimes. Someone embezzles millions of dollars, and has to spend a couple of years in a country club. If Patriots didn't have a perfect season, if they weren't in the super bowl, then this would of been dropped by now. I think most people like movies where the bad guy gets it at the end, so far the movie isn't over, and every week we hope. this is where he gets it. I don't hate the Patriots, if it wasn't for Belichick, I could care less about them, unless they were playing the Bears, then I would want them to loose, but I wouldn't hate them.

But you are talking about injustices within a different system and I don't disagree. A j-walker gets a nasty fine and a murderer gets off on a technicality. It is widely believed that the Patriots would have beaten the Jets no matter what. Since no one has proven there has been any further cheating then what is the deal ??? The $$$ penalty wasn't all they suffered. Keep in mind they have lost a first round draft pick. Years ago there were stories (not sure of the validity of them) that Don Shula did a little pre-season tampering for the Dolphins. Should there be an asterisk next to their record ?? Seems to me they are just a group of former NFL players/coaches trying to die with their record in hand. Sorry fella's you come off like the mad kid who owns the football and is gonna take it home unless he gets his way. Records were made to be broken and after 36 years ... it may be time.

I can just imagine how many of Don Shula's former Dolphins players are calling him today, wondering just what he was thinking with his inane asterisk talk. For all intents and purposes, he pretty much assured the Patriots are going to run the table this season -- matching the perfection done only by Shula's '72 squad -- by calling into question the validity of their accomplishments.
This is a team that finds disrespect when they're not a two-touchdown favorite. Bring up asterisks, validity, and cheating accusations and, well, you're actually watching what happens: A convincing 9-0 mark and very few standing in the way of perfection. The 2007 Patriots will go down as the best team in the history of the NFL, a powerhouse in the dynasty they've already created for themselves this decade.
But...oh, right. The camera stuff.
