| Wilfork Fined $15,000 Adam Schefter of NFL Network is reporting that Patriots defensive tackle Vince Wilfork has been fined $15,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct. The fine comes as a result of Wilfork poking at the eye of Giants running back Brandon Jacobs during Saturday night's New England victory. Wilfork wasn't penalized at the time because the officials didn't see it. Jacobs was not hurt. For Wilfork, it's the third fine he has received this season. He also got a $12,500 fine for hitting Bills quarterback J.P. Losman in the knee, and a $5,000 fine for a late hit on Cowboys tight end Jason Witten. Actually I blame the league for not nipping things like this in the bud. No the league isn't at fault for the action itself but realistically what does $15K mean to some guy making millions. Even if it is the team that is picking up the tab they don't care either. He provides a needed service for them and they are willing to bite the bullet. The league needs to step in with suspensions for action such as this ... especially when it happens three times in one season. I'm sure had there been some type of eye injury the penalty would have been far greater than money. No team needs a player with that type of mentality.

| Re: Wilfork Fined $15,000 I still think suspensions are a better alternative. The team goes without the player. The player loses pay for the time frame he is out. If it were to happen enough the team could dump him or the NFL itself could impose a greater penalty. |
