The Patriots don't often over pay for players, but there's one guy on the roster who hasn't earned his enormous paycheck this season: Defensive lineman
Richard Seymour.
Seymour has played in just five games this season after starting the season on the physically unable to perform list, and now that he's on the field he rarely makes impact plays. He got pushed around on Monday night against the Ravens, and Len Pasquarelli of
ESPN Insider reports that "Patriots coaches and club officials are less than thrilled" with Seymour, and that "Seymour isn't playing up to his standards, or those expected of him by his employers."
The
Patriots paid Seymour more than $24 million last year as part of a long-term contract that they hoped would mean he'd be a dominant force on the defensive line for years to come. That's not looking like money well spent.
