Tom Brady

Question for all the PATS fans about your QB. First I want to say in no way do i doubt the boys abilities so don't go off the deepend. I am sick and tired of hearing about the god known as Brady. I think Brady is a hell of a quarterback, but I feel most of his succes has come from the team that the coach and owners have built.

With that being said, here's my question. Again I do not doubt the boy's abilities. Do you think Brady boy would be as good with another team. Any team. Let's say the Raiders, Saints, Bears or hell even the Cowboys? Just askin everyone's opinions. Do you think he would be as good with another team, and you could pick any team in the NFL.

Re: Tom Brady

Would he be throwing and blocking and catching for himself.

It takes a team to win and Brady is just a superior leader.

Yes he is, but would it work with a less superior team?

oh but i think you do doubt, or you wouldnt have asked

Brady would improve ANY team you put him on, except maybe the Colts

yes he won 3 Super Bowls, and lets look at the teams he won those with ........ for years his best WR was Troy Brown and his best RB was Antwan Smith

i dont think the question is whether or not Brady is really that good .... i think the real question is, could any other QB in the league have accomplished what Brady has with this team ............... and my answer is, there may be only one .. Peyton Manning

Re: Tom Brady

A little back ground behind this Simon... I live around the most obnoxious bunch of PATS fans. All they do is call Brady a god. They think there is no better QB out there or ever was, which really pi$$es me off cause there have been greater QB's. Now like I said, I don't doubt his abilities. What I want to know from sensible people( people who actually look at the situation and think), would he be as good on a less superior team. Would people be lookin at him like a god. I ask this cause I know I will get honest opinions from people on this forum who actually think about and give their thoughts and not just spew out some Brady propaganda(spelling).

That's a different question, but a sensible one. I believe you would be correct.

I pick the Raiders-- he would be just as talented as he is now only his team wouldnt be as successful

He is a great leader and would improve most teams.

No, because his record wouldnt be as good with a poor team behind him or a dizzy coach.

I must not be on the same wave length or something because it seems to be you arent all asking quite the same thing. Is he good? Oh yeah he's very good. But his record wouldnt be quite as impressive with out the right team and coach behind him. He simply landed in the right place at the right time and he was the right guy. The Patriots have the "magic" right now. Even Pats fans would have a slightly different story right now if his receivers had as bad a case of dropsies as the Falcons, or the Seahawks did last year. But you will never convince Pats fans of that, Quality, so just tune it out.

would he be as good, well i think that is relative ....... yes he would be, but the outcome would not be the same ....... could he be traded to the Raiders right now and lead the team they currently have to the Super Bowl .. i doubt it very much

i think he would make any other team better .... by at least a victory or two

think of Joe Montana in KC .... or Steve Young in Tampa

Yes, you did but I think Quality what was asking was would he be considered "a god" if he was on another team, and that sometimes Pats fans make him sound perfect, which he's not. He's good, but he looks as good as he does because of where he is right now. Which is what you and I are saying.
In other words, the chink in the armor is showing.

Re: Tom Brady

The old saying is that the chain is only as good as its weakest link. They do well as a team no matter what anyone says. Brady cannot win by himself. Simple as that.

Re: Tom Brady

A better question might be, what other quarterbacks could be doing what Brady is doing on that team. He never gets hit and he is rarely pressured. If you put Carson Palmer back there, would the Pats be 8-0? How about Romo or Favre? Brady behind a sieve of an offensive line is going to be pounded, harassed, and throw as many interceptions as the next guy as he runs for his life. That's the nature of the sport.

not so fast my friends .... once again i did a little research

i looked up the sack #'s for this season ...... was fairly interesting

Drew Brees - 286 Pass attempts - 4 sacks
Peyton Manning - 232 Pass attempts - 5 sacks
Jay Cutler - 181 Pass attempts - 8 sacks
Eli Mannings - 249 Pass attempts - 8 sacks
Matt Leinart + Kurt Warner - 224 Pass attempts - 8 sacks
Derek Anderson - 209 Pass attempts - 8 sacks
McNair + Boller - 274 Pass attempts - 9 sacks
Jeff Garcia - 230 Pass attempts - 10 sacks
Carson Palmer - 255 Pass attempts - 10 sacks
Phillip Rivers - 189 Pass attempts - 10 sacks
Brett Favre - 247 Pass attempts - 11 sacks
Tony Romo - 239 Pass attempts - 11 sacks
Jason Campbell - 204 Pass attempts - 12 sacks
Brian Griese - 203 Pass attempts - 12 sacks
Matt Schaub - 215 Pass attempts - 12 sacks

Tom Brady - 267 Pass attempts - 8 sacks

seems to me there are a good # of QB's with less sacks then Brady that are not considered anywhere near his equal (Manning being the only one on his level)

of all of the QB's on this list only Brady and Manning are considered equal and i think the #'s are fairly similar
