I knew they would take the Jets, and San Diego wasnt playing well at the beginning of the year. Buffalo is more or less a joke as is Miami. Cincinnati lacks a defense, but Carson Palmer passed for more yards than Brady. Dallas was the best the NFC had to offer and though they sacked Brady and pressured him a bit, came back ahead in the third quarter, they were outplayed by the classy Patriots. Washington has a young quarterback and no way was he going to beat the Pats' defense, but for sure, everyone thought Washington's defense would give Brady a hard time. It was almost a shut out.
So who is left? Who is going to take out the Pats?? There is only one team left that can do it, and sooner or later, they will.
That team is the New England Patriots. |
ya hit it dead square center on the head .. the Patriots.
though I didn't get to see any of the games yesterday, I was thinking back to the games I've seen over the past several weeks and one thing stands out about the Pats: they are acting like winners, not like winners act, but they are showing the rest of the teams what winning means. look at the way they approach the line; they stand tall and proud, confident in their abilities and those of their teammates. they are playing as a team, each one trying to make the team better, none seeking personal glory (as much as a pro can do that when personal glory translates in to his paycheck, but still...) yeah, they celebrate their individual achievements, but there's a sense of "team" about them. at some point they will stumble and not recover or only partially recover .. then they will be headed down. until then, sit back and enjoy the show .. it's one we haven't seen the likes of in many years.
