If you read all of my previous posts, I've always said that there is no such thing as a pro team running up a score.

But to still have Brady in the game at 38-0, going on 4th down and throwing passes is ridiculous.

At 45-0 the Pats went on 4th down from their own 37.

If Belicek keeps on playing this way, a pissed off DL or LB is going to gladly take a 15 yard penalty and put Brady out of commission for a few weeks.

And maybe the Pats deserve that.

yesterday a lot of scoring happened

Addai and the Colts won 31-7 and he scored the last TD

San Diego beat Houston 35-10 and Rivers never came out

New Orleans beat San Fran 31-10 and Brees never came out

other teams do all they can to score all they can ....... why dump on the Pats because they are the best team in the league ?

Come on Simon, be fair. None of those teams would have gone AND passed on 4th down up all those points. Especially the Colts. Dungy has too much class to embarrass Joe Gibbs like that.

I've defended Belicek up until yesterday, but that was over the top. Why can't you just admit that?

Dude...Sorgi came in with 9 minutes to go in the Colts game and at half it was close.

Rivers threw all of 10 or 11 passes which killed me in fantasy after he stop throwing to Gates...

and Brees needs the work and confidence...

Can you really compare them with a straight face to the Pats?...come on now, give me a break...

Now, on a personal note, I say run up the freakin score all you can, but that's me.

These guys are professional athletes. There's no such thing as running up the score in the pros. If this was college, it'd be a different story. But the Washington defense is paid to stop the Patriots offense. Boo-hoo-hoo for them if they can't. At least Belichick did bring in some subs in the fourth quarter with a 45 point lead. And I still found myself screaming at the TV that the defense needed to man-up and preserve the shutout. And I'm not even a Patriots fan. But that's football.

Yeah, really. That was just the fourth worst defeat in Redskins history. Think any linebackers on those 50's and 60's teams that got embarrassed worse were crying to the media afterwards. Absolutely not! People worry way to much about "feelings" in pro sports these days.

I agree. If it was college it would be another thing. But these guys are paid athletes. If they cannot stop the other team, then that's their problem!

It's not about running up the score. although I dont think its necessary , but when you have an opportunity to put your backups in every week, but you don't, then you are asking for trouble. Every week they have been up by at least 20, usually more, in the fourth quarter, yet they keep Brady in. This is not necessary.

Not because it's mean to the other team, this is the NFL, you arent supposed to be holding hands and blowing kisses. But because Brady is bound to get hurt. When he does, will the backup be ready to keep the Pats streak going? Definitely not. If Brady has to miss even one week, NE is doomed. I agree someone is gonna get pissed and hurt brady if they keep on. I personally think bellachek is trying to erase the the fact that the pats were cheaters..aint gonna happen bill..

No none starts putting in backups in the 3rd quarter...heck, starters should play...it ain't preseason.

And where did I say they should put the backups in the 3rd quarter? Your right its not pre-season, but when you have a substantial lead in the 4th, every smart coach knows to put in the backup, this isnt rocket science goth, almost every sport is played like this, Its the smart thing to do..
