| Belichick To Be Suspended? Don Banks and Peter King of SI.com report that the NFL is considering the possibility of stripping a first-day pick from the New England Patriots, and also suspending coach Bill Belichick. League sources told SI.com that Commissioner Roger Goodell has not yet decided on a punishment. The determination will be announced on Friday. One option that has been ruled out is forfeiture of Sunday's 38-14 win over the Jets. Goodell is attempting to balance the punishment between the organization and Belichick. The draft pick that is taken from the team could be a first-rounder selection, and a multi-game suspension could be imposed on Belichick. | Re: Belichick To Be Suspended? On ESPN, one of the guys said the rest of the league doesn't think it's fair because the Patriots have two first round picks so they can stand to still lose one. The rest of the league thought a suspension would have been just. |

| Re: Belichick To Be Suspended? No suspension is a surprise, as is the severity of the draft pick(s) to be taken. NFL isn't kidding around here, apparently. Regardless of whatever any of us think about this rule, they seem to be guarding and enforcing it rather strictly. |

Draft picks hurt the team. Suspension hurts Belichick. Maybe a suspension would be in order. Its fun to watch the response of the rest of the Nfl about this. Coaches seem to be circling the wagons and protecting one of their own. Coach of Ravens said he was jealous because he wasnt smart enough to think of it. Players range from politically correct to just laughing. Beware NFL Goodell isnt laughing at all.
