Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

ok, im as much of a Pats homer as anyone.....but i think he is a good year or two away from the HOF

with one more good year he can have over 12,000 yards, 100 TDs and a SB ring.......i think that should get him in......or atleast serious contention

2 more healthy years could possibly get him 14,000 yards and that would get him in for sure

He also has a few games (I am thinking 3 or is it more) of over 200 yards rushing...

Re: Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

so you would agree, if he has one more good year...1000 yards rushing and 15 TDs......he should get in the Hall ?

The Planets align every once in a while...by freak chance we are bound to agree...this makes Dillion's induction indisputable...

Re: Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

although i think his agent is one of the dumbest men alive

making his comment was so stupid........they may have released him without the statement and he would be free to shop around, but now there's no way they would let him go

Re: Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

i think the thing with Dillion is, he has a good deal at New England, he does not need to be an every down back, hes a hero among the fans and in terms of being a HOFer....i dunno, i just see him being one of these players that gets nominated and rejected over and over again every year becuase no doubt he is and was a good player but is he really HOF material? i mean hes most likely to be in the same class as Tiki Barber, Eddie George, Marshall Faulk and the Edge, so can he be compared with all of those in terms of being a HOFer?

Cool Re: Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

And here comes the killjoy aka ThePundit. I don't care what his numbers are. Dillon was a very, very good runner - not a great one, in my estimation.

Isn't the HOF supposed to be for very special players? Emmitt Smith, Barry Sanders, Jim Brown, Eric Dickerson, Earl Campbell....Is Dillon on par with these guys in your opinion?

Marshall Faulk is a HOFer that's for damn sure if I have to carry him there myself! What hasn't he done? MVP? Check. SuperBowl Ring? Check. 1000 yds rushing and 1000 yds recieving? Check. (The Roger Craig stat that really impresses me!) Rushing Title? Check! First ballot to the illustrious Hall in my opinion. Eddie George? No. Tiki Barber? No. Now as for Corey Dillon remember his Bengal achievements which were staggering and when he came to New England he was in the back end of his prime but he does own a SuperBowl ring which will play a big factor in him going to Canton. I say yes but not a first ballot guy by any means.

Re: Corey Dillon For Hall Of Fame

yeah i know thats what i said, he wouldnt go at the first time hes nominated as for the Super Bowl ring argument i can understand it cos its always a big factor with every possible hall of fame nominee the only argument i have against that is that you look at Peyton Manning for example, would he have become a Hall of Famer if he hadn't won the super bowl ring? the only thing about Dillion is that he wont go straight away i just see him being one of these players that goes for years with nominations but not getting in, thats what my point was

Your feelings aside, you can't chuk the man's stats out the window...Dickerson ran behind a line that made Charles White a 1,300 yard back when he left...Dillion piled it up for the Bengals...his stats include some of the best one day performances ever for a back...

If you look inside the Hall, there are not all Sanders and Browns there...for what is there besides the gods of the sports, Dillion would make a good addition.
