I believe corner Asante Samuel is an unrestricted free agent this off-season. I see most believe he really upped his game in the post-season and should be one of the premiere corners available on the open market. Corners usually get HUGE deals, similar to QBs and such.

I don't beleive this team, there the only team in history as far as I can tell who's probaly never planned on compensating anybody that help them succeed.

They didn't pay Ty Law and were able to find Asante Samuel to replace him. They won't pay Samuel either, and then they'll go out and find someone to replace him too. It's the NFL's version of Moneyball. The guy taking Samuel's place may not be quite as good, but he'll work a lot cheaper and he's get the job done to some degree. That's just their modus operandi.

I would be surprised to see him with the patriots next year. They just don't over pay for each position. The one thing they may do would be to franchise him next year but IMHO they won't. As far as what they will do to replace him? I really don't know maybe draft or FA ---personally leaning to draft or franchise him

They'll try to work out an extension, but will end up slapping the franchise tag on him more than likely, then some team will give him a ridiculously large contract because they equate interceptions with being a shutdown corner next year.
