Cool Bruschi retiring?

Bruschi Hints at Retirement?
By tommasse

At least that's what Michael Felger and some of the TV guys are saying.

Tedy Bruschi was definitely a little broken up in the locker room after the game, but he looked more composed later in another one-on-one interview.

Bruschi said he was going to go home and reflect on the season. Asked about the future, he said, "I don't know. ... I've been so into this season. ... I just take it from year to year," and reiterated that he was going to reflect on this season for a while.

He also said that he was proud of the other players on the team, and he sounded a little choked up about it.

I'm sure speculation will run rampant over the next few days, and we'll keep an eye on things.

I would hope so. As much of a competitor as he is, I thought he was crazy to keep playing after his stroke.

Re: Bruschi retiring?

If his heart is healthy, I'm sure he can play another season or two. But did this season take too much out of him?

Re: Bruschi retiring?

it would be sad to see him go, just like it was sad to lose Teddy Johnson

but he has to do what is best for him

with the two 1st round picks i feel confident Bruschi can be competantly replaced in talent but his leadership will be missed

That's the key if his heart is healthy. If I were him i'd get it checked every possible way and then make my determination if he's gonna play or not. Like Empire said another season or two would be nice because he is a great player but the heart is a tricky thing and he is nearing his mid-30s so there that to think about as well.
