AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

The New England Patriots will meet the Indianapolis Colts in the AFC Championship, Sunday, January 21 at 6:30pm EST. It's a familiar match-up. Belichick vs. Dungy. Peyton vs. Brady. Can the Patriots make sure that this familiar match-up has a familiar result, i.e. a New England victory over Indy resulting in a trip to the Super Bowl? What do you think?

I think the Patriots are going to beat them, then win the Super Bowl. It seems as though they are clicking and that Gradkowski is kicking it in when it counts. This could be a big surprise.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

It will be the Pats again. I think Belichick just knows how to beat them. It is going to be hard to watch if you are a Colts fan. The frustration over losing again will almost be too much to watch.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

Pats all the way

the score ? .....................well it all depends on Brady..............if he can pull his head out of his a$$ and get on fire the Colts will get killed

Samuel will pick Manning off twice and Colvin and Bruschi will beat Adai like he's a Pinata and they arent wearing blindfolds

Pats 27 - Colts 17

i have to say though.........as a Pats fan.......the perfect ending would have to be 21 - 20 Pats win............with 3 seconds left, Vinatieri misses the game winning field goal..........that would be sweet

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

The Indianapolis Colts have 0 chance of defeating the Patriots sunday so all those looking for Peyton to get his ring forget it. The Chargers gave the game away but showed that you make a mistake with the Pats and it's like playing with fire. Plus the Patriot defense always manages to make Peyton Manning look like Eli Manning. The Patriots are the AFC Champions. Done deal.

Well, this IS the Patriots forum, so I guess it isn't much of a surprise to see a bunch of New England picks here. Still, I've gotta go against the grain. New England shouldn't have won on Sunday; the Chargers imploded and beat themselves. Indy's defense has been lights out in recent weeks, and I figure Manning will break out of his slump on Sunday. Last year was Philly's turn to finally make the Super Bowl. This year, it will be the Colts, 27-21.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

From what I seen in the regular season when these two teams last played our boy Mr. Brady threw four interceptions. I'm not saying that this is going to happen when these two play in this great playoff game coming up but we must not forget that the Colts defense is underrated because of high statistics such as yards against and first downs allowed. I think the Colts defense should be able to contain Maroney, Faulk and Dillon. All I can say is this should be another classic game.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

keep in mind.........during the regular season when they played Brady had 4 int's and the Colts only won by 7 points

doesnt seem to bode well for the Colts if Brady has a good game

also keep im mind when the Pats beat the Chargers last week Rodney Harrison didnt play

also keep in mind last week the Pats beat the supposed best team in the NFL and they were held to 51 yards rushing as a team...........and the Colts have been known to have a defense like a sieve at times this season

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

My pick goes to the Colts.

They're playing at home with what should be a frenzied crowd and as loud an atmosphere as can be.

The Colts defense has a chip on their shoulder as does Peyton.

And let's face it, the Patriots (and Belichick more specifically) are the evil bad guys in the NFL.

i have heard from interviews with former players that the biggest home field advantage in the NFL due to crowd noise is KC..........didnt help them any did it

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

KC played @ Indy in the wildcard round.

The Colts defense has played better than any defense this post-season thus far.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

I agree with Lefty here. I think that Indy will pull this one out. I say this for two reason, I'm a Patriots hater, I admit it. Second, the defense of the pats have stepped up and I don't believe there will be much of a running game for the Pats.

Lefty is 100% correct. I still don't know how SD lost that game. This is the biggest game of Peyton's life and I believe he steps up and will not let his team lose.

Re: AFC Championship: Patriots vs. Colts

At the risk of sounding like a jerk...you are all dead wrong!!! The Patriots may let the Colts have a regular season win here or there who cares? The Pats are a team built for the post season pure and simple! Hell they should have beaten the Broncos last year! As I said in another thread no matter how mighty Peyton Manning looks the Patriots defense seems to know his every move before Peyton does. The Colts are defeated ladies and gents because i'm sure the defense against the Colts has already been drawn up. Sun Tzu from The Art Of War; "Every battle is won before it is fought." Hey i'm a Jets fan so I have no love for Belichick's crew but reality is reality. The New England Patroits are the 2006 AFC Champs. Next up the Bears or Saints.
