Tomlinson runs through and around Patriots for 157 yards and three scores. Brady cannot keep pace, and Pats fall 31-24. It might have been different had Bellichick had two weeks to prepare for Chargers, and I doubt San Diego will ask Rivers to do too much here.

i really need to get on Ross about instituting that drug testing policy for members and staff........many of you are obviously on crack

as for this game there are 2 things the Pats need to do to win

1...obviously deal with LT....they need to have Bruschi and Harrison key on LT and hit him every single play.....period......that puts an end to that threat

2....they need to deal with Merrimen....which i believe just means running a 2 tight end set....whichever side Merrimen is on the other TE goes in motion to that side to help block him.....period.......takes care of that problem

i believe if the Pats can do these 2 things to hold back Merrimen and LT they will win the game fairly easily

If it was that easy, other teams would have been doing this already. You also forgot Gates in this equation. He can change a game by himself. The only chance the Pats have is if the Bolts start to play Martyball. He gets too conservative at playoff time.

Gates only had 4 games with more then 70 yards receiving this year......thats not very impressive

also keep in mind the Chargers had a fairly cupcake schedule........Oakland twice...Buffalo.....Pittsburgh....Arizona......Ten nessee...San Fransisco.....Cleveland......there's 8 games right there against crap teams
