FOXBOROUGH, Mass. -- New England Patriots linebacker Junior Seau, who came out of retirement for one last run at a Super Bowl, left Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears with an injury to his right arm and would not return.

After initially reporting his return was doubtful, the team said in the third quarter that Seau was out for the game.

The 12-time Pro Bowl selection went to the turf with just under nine minutes left in the second quarter after tackling Cedric Benson for no gain at the Chicago 25-yard line. He walked off after a few minutes, waving to the cheering fans with his left hand while a trainer held his right arm still for him. Seau's arm appeared to be wrapped in a soft cast.

Unofficially, NBC was calling it a broken arm. If it is, you've got to wonder about Seau's future.

he is more then just a tackler on the team

i think he is someone other players can really look up to, along with Harrison and Bruschi

havent heard how severe it is yet and may not really know until Tuesday, if ever as the Pats are real tight lipped with injuries

though, i would bring him back next year for the right price and i would think he would want to come back.......they are real good now and they have 2 1st round picks and lots of cap room........alot of incentive for him to come back to try and get a ring

The 12-time Pro Bowl selection will miss the rest of the season after coming out of a brief retirement to join the Patriots this summer.
