Re: Randy Moss Patriots trade rumors

I can't be the only one here who things Moss will essentially be a decoy while Stallworth gets the big numbers, can I?

well that would be the first 10,000 yard 101 TD, 6'5" decoy I have ever seen... ...not gonna happen...

Well, Jerry Rice was to a large degree near the end of his career. And let's face it, Moss IS near the end of his career.

That's cause T.O. can still ball. Hey, I could be wrong, but I don't think Moss is capable of 80 catches and 1,200 yards anymore.

Good point, Gotham Dark Knight.

Moss is still one of the top caliber recievers in the NFL.

Is he? Is he really? I mean, he didn't even lead his own team in receiving last year. He never had a 10 TD season in Oakland. His career yards per catch average is 4.0 and over the past two years he put up just 2.9 and 3.0 yards per catch. He hasn't had a 1200-plus yard season since 2003. I understand some of that is the fault of his quarterbacks, but I'm just not sold on him still being this all-world talent anymore.

Re: Randy Moss Patriots trade rumors

I didn't say he was the best, or one of the best.

I just claimed that he was good, which he is.

A big part of his career in Oakland was lost due to horrible QBs.

You can catch, if they don't pass.

Re: Randy Moss Patriots trade rumors

alright, some of you (Lefty) dont seem to realize the impact Moss can have

it has been confirmed he recently ran 4.29 40's ..... so he still has his speed

he still has his skills to make catches ....... that isnt something you just forget

he has never played on a team with such a great chance to go deep in the post-season ....... and if that fails to motivate him the Pats can cut him anytime they like

personally im upset that this is only a one year contract i can see Moss and the Pats winning 2 of the next 3 Super Bowls

Re: Randy Moss Patriots trade rumors

The old Moss makes the Patriots the team to beat in the NFL. An old Moss makes them a team that will get beat. I'm betting that it is the former and not the latter.

I think Moss flat out bailed in Oakland... I think he is hard press to put up big numbers in New England simply because Brady spreads the ball around...having said that...I think he will be the go to homerun guy...Donte will get his share...but who would you throw the jump ball to near the end zone?

And my feeling is the opposite. We'll see this fall.

With all this hype, though, Moss will draw the double coverage most. I just don't see him leading the team in receptions.

Cool Re: Randy Moss Patriots trade rumors

Sean Powell of Newsday thinks that these latest Pats moves is Belicek reacting to th Jets.
Quote:
Truthfully, this wasn't a bunch of moves. It was a reaction.
And the Jets should consider it a compliment.

just what is it the Jets did to make the Pats react ?

without Moss the Pats would go deep in the playoffs ....... anyone really believe they would have a tough time getting past the Jets in doing it ?

if you do then youre fooling yourself
