Patriots eye receivers

The Patriots worked out free agent wide receiver Charles Rogers, the second overall pick in the 2003 draft, yesterday at Gillette Stadium. The team also had veteran receivers Jabar Gaffney and Kevin Johnson in for workouts.

This is the time of year when the Patriots usually bring players in for workouts at different positions to keep their emergency lists fresh. The team has only four receivers on its present roster: Troy Brown, Reche Caldwell, Doug Gabriel, and Chad Jackson.

i hope they dont sign Rogers, he's trouble, but the other two seem ok.....possibly even a step above some we have

Re: Patriots eye receivers

I thought Gaffney was playing for the Eagles.

Anyway, New England needs to steer clear of Rogers. He doesn't fit their "team-first" ideology.
