| Branch To Seahawks KIRKLAND, Wash. -- The New England Patriots ended the holdout of receiver Deion Branch on Monday by trading him to the Seattle Seahawks for a 2007 first-round draft pick. Seahawks general manager Tim Ruskell called Branch "a known commodity," and added that a first-round pick "can be a crapshoot." Seattle expects to finalize a new, multiyear contract with the MVP from the Super Bowl in 2000 in the next few days. ESPN.com - NFL - Seahawks deal first-round pick to Pats for Branch i think this will work out well for the Pats they may suffer a little this year, but for the future it will be all smiles in Foxboro

| Re: Branch To Seahawks I personally don't see the hype about Branch. For his career, isn't he averagin something like 600 yards and 5 TDs a season? That kind of production simply isn't worth giving up a 1st round pick for, in my opinion. Of course, the kid could go out next week and prove me wrong, but... I think the Pats got the better end of this deal.

| Re: Branch To Seahawks Exactly Gotham, New England's offense was never going to have one major receiver with a ton of stats. Branch however developed great chemistry with Brady and performed at the Super Bowl and was named MVP. Branch now has a chance to be a premiere receiver in the NFC, in an offense that should put points on the board. I assume this past week's 9-points was a fluke. |
