| Seattle still interested in Branch Rebuffed once in an attempt to acquire New England Patriots holdout wide receiver Deion Branch, the Seattle Seahawks may take another run at trying to complete a trade, with their continuing interest in the four-year veteran fueled by continuing concerns about their own receiving corps. The Seahawks, along with the New York Jets, had fashioned a contract agreement by Friday with Branch agreeing to a six-year, $39 million deal that would have paid him $13 million in combined bonuses and about $23 million in the first three years of the contract. Neither team, however, could satisfy the demands of the Patriots, who are seeking first- and middle-round choices as compensation, and the 4 p.m. ET deadline set by New England passed without a trade. But there were indications on Friday night and early Saturday that the Seahawks remain very interested in Branch and could try to resuscitate a potential trade. The reason: The defending NFC champions will begin practice for next week's regular-season opener with lingering question marks in their passing game. ESPN.com - NFL - Pacific Trade Winds? works for me the Pats 1st team looked fine without Branch this preseason, so lets get something useful for him

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch What I don't understand is if a trade was worked out btw the Hawks and the Jets for Branch what stopped it from happening? Was it simply that the Pats weren't interested in the compensation being offered??? |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch Thanks for the welcome Simon.. I have been hearing today that the rumor the Pats want two first rounders for him is false. They are looking for something along the lines of a first rounder and a mid rounder. I understand their thinking if they did in fact ask for two 1st rounders Either way as a Seahawk fan I would be glad to get him and only hope the Pats come down from that asking price. |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch i hope they come down too if we cant trade him and he sits out all season then he leaves and we get nothing at this point i would rather even get a 2nd round pick instead of nothing and hey, he didnt get Super Bowl MVP by accident, he is a good WR dont forget to go to the Football Forum at the top of the NFL Forum section and join us in picking the winners for week one |

As for Deion Branch, I look forward to finding out his destination for this season if not next season. Either ways, I don't think he will remain in New England even though I think they have a great setup for him there with Tom Brady at the QB slot. Seattle wouldn't be a bad place for him to shine his talent, because that would strengthen their recievers since they already have a good RB (Mr. MVP) and QB (Hasselback). If he finds his way to Seattle, I know who I think will go all the way this season and it won't be the Panthers or the Colts! |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch Welcome HMB to the forums. Branch to Seattle? It seems they've been trying ot get a bigtime wideout for years. They just signed Willie Ponder away but he's more of a return guy. If I were the Seahawks, I'd give up a first rounder for him. He's been a Super Bowl MVP, the 'Hawks need a guy like that. |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch Its funny now that we have Branch tons of Steeler and Ram trolls on some other forums are letting us know how stupid we are for signing him. I've heard everthing from he is poor locker presence, punk, prima donna, pansy, injury prone, poor production, never had a 1000 yard season, we overpaid, mortgaged the future, this marks the beginning of the end etc. etc. etc. I'm stoked to have him, he is in his prime will fit in nicely to the WCO and takes alot of pressure off our O-line, Alexander, Hass and the rest of the receiving core. Brady spreads the ball to everyone, tes', running backs etc Too many people get too wrapped up in stats, I've seen the guy play and I know what he can do. Oh well sorry about that, had to vent a little. Sick of these jealous Rams raining on our parade. |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch Good deal for the Seahawks. I thought it was a good deal from the start. Who can the Patriots get next season with a first rounder towards the end of the last round? |

| Re: Seattle still interested in Branch Maybe they'll snag Jason Hill from my alma matter, the guy is one helluva reciever and he could slip to the end of the first, beginning of the second round. Before we got Branch I was holding out hope the Hawks would snag him. |
