According to the AP, about a week ago the Nebraska Cornhuskers lost starting cornerback Zackary Bowman for the year after Bowman injured his left knee in 1-on-1 drills. "Bowman, who started the last five games in 2005, came down on his leg wrong while defending a corner route during Saturday's practice. He had an MRI exam Sunday, revealing a torn anterior cruciate ligament," the wire service reported. Big loss for the Huskers?

Of course it is a huge loss, Bowman was the top rated player out of junior college last year and was listed by some scouts as a possible 1st round draft pick. Another junior college transfer, Andre Jones, is expected to step in and take his spot on the field. Jones also comes in with high ratings but may not be as explosive as Bowman.
