Looking ahead to the future, the Huskers have scheduled a home and away series with UCLA for the 2012 and 2013 seasons. In recent years the Huskers have had to scramble to find opponents but the new trend shows they are planning ahead as they did in years past. As a Husker fan, I find this game much more attractive than playing Maine, Troy, or Middle Tennessee State and hope the new trend continues. Hey, don't be dissing MTSU!!! The Blue Raiders are on the move, baby!!!!

But I guess I see your point, lol. UCLA vs Nebraska might be a more intersting game for everyone outside of the Nashville/Murfreesboro area. Always nice to see top programs scheduling non conference games that can actually be lost as opposed to the patsy's that used to be the norm.

How many coaches you guys gonna go thru by 2012? More importantly, how many new championships are you counting on in the next 6-7 years?

Huskers are on their 4th coach in the last 45 years. I realize circumstances have changed in Lincoln, but odds are that he will be a Husker as long as he decides he wants to be. As for championships, we take it one game at a time and championship opportunities will come with patience and hard work. Heck, it took Tom Osborne over 20 years to get his first national championship.
