| Huskers the #6 seed overall The Huskers get the #6 overall seeding for the College Baseball World Series. Interestingly, Texas is the #3 seed even though Nebraska had a better record and beat Texas 3 out of 4 times this year. Let's hope they face each other again in Omaha. | Re: Huskers the #6 seed overall The Huskers spent most of the year ranked in the top 5 but dropped a couple late season series they probably should have won. However, they did make the Big12 title game after beating Texas only to lose the final against Kansas. Huskers pitching has been their strength this season and they need that pitching to regain the dominance they had early in the season. I fear that maybe their pitchers are tired now and hope I am wrong about this because their hitting is nowhere near last years level. They are a difficult team to measure up right now, but if they make it to Omaha, you know who the hometown fans will be there for. |

| Re: Huskers the #6 seed overall Huskers lose a shocker to Manhattan in the first game of the tournament in Lincoln by a score of 4-1. Ironically, it was Manhattan that knocked the Husker basketball team out of the first round of the NIT tournament in march. Huskers will face San Francisco on saturday in an elimination game. USF was an 11-2 loser to Miami. |

| Re: Huskers the #6 seed overall Huskers lost to USF 5-1 for an embarrasing early exit from the NCAA baseball playoffs. A top team for most of the year they struggled down the stretch as they lost 1) the Big12 regular season title, 2) The Big12 title game, and 3) both games at home in the NCAA playoff tournament. It is going to be a long summer in Lincoln as the locals set their sights on football once again. |
