| Report: Pelini making $1.1M annually LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Bo Pelini's new contract to coach at Nebraska is a multiyear deal worth more than $1 million a year, a newspaper reported on Saturday. Citing two anonymous sources close to the situation, the Lincoln Journal Star reported that Pelini's deal would be worth about $1.1 million annually. The newspaper did not say how many years were on the deal. The former defensive coordinator at LSU was hired by Athletic Director Tom Osborne in December to replace Bill Callahan after the Cornhuskers went 5-7. Nebraska spokesman Randy York said he could not confirm or deny the details of the story, but did say Pelini signed his contract on Wednesday. York reiterated comments made earlier to The Associated Press that the contract would be publicly released no sooner than Tuesday, because it had not yet been signed by all necessary university officials. A request for comment from Pelini was not immediately returned. Pelini told the Journal Star that he thought the contract negotiations were straightforward.
