A bad season for the Nebraska Cornhuskers has just gotten a whole lot worse.

According to the Associated Press, "Nebraska quarterback Sam Keller will miss the rest of the season with a shoulder injury, the latest setback in a tumultuous season for coach Bill Callahan and the Cornhuskers." Joe Ganz will start in his place this week against 8th ranked Kansas. How big of a loss is this for the Huskers?

With all the quarterbacks going down to shoulder injuries they need to wear some sort of redesigned shoulder pads.

Tim Tebow is a perfect exapmle. If he is going to rush for one third of Florida's offense his shoulder pads need to be more like those worn by a running back yet still give him the ability to pass accurately.

Keller's injury turns out to be a broken collar bone. With Keller out for the rest of the season combined with the question of Callhan leaving after the end of the season the players have alot to think about. Will the distractions cause a meltdown or will the team play harder despite the distractions?

I think this is a blessing in disguise. I don't want to be critical of Keller, but he is a very immobile QB. Joey Gansz now will take over as QB, he is far more mobile and has been with the program for 3 years which means he knows the system inside out. I am looking forward to seeing Gansz start, it's not exactly as if Keller was leading this team, they have lost 4 games in a row for the first time in more than 50 years.
