| AD gives Callahan vote of confidence LINCOLN, Neb. (AP) -- Nebraska athletic director Steve Pederson pledged his support Monday night to Bill Callahan and the rest of the football coaching staff in the wake of a 35-point loss to Missouri. "What I've tried to do is be supportive and encouraging and make sure our coaches and players know we have tremendous confidence in them, belief in them, and we're doing all we can to help them succeed," Pederson said on his weekly radio show on the Husker Sports Network. "We just don't leave people hanging out. That's not my way. We're keeping them pepped up and focused, our players in particular. It's important that they get rejuvenated." Full Story

| Re: AD gives Callahan vote of confidence What Steve Pederson thinks no longer matters, he was finally fired and Husker fans couldn't be happier. Rumors are running rampant that Tom Osborne may step in as the new AD on an interim basis. Pederson has been unpopular in Nebraska since the day he fired Frank Solich and conducted a one man search for a new coach. He never once allowed anyone else to advise him in the process and we ended up with Bill Callahan, an NFL coach with no use for the traditions and ways of Nebraska football. It would appear that Callahan will be the next one to be fired, along with most of his assistants, especially the hated DC Kevin Cosgrove.
