Cornhuskers vs. Demon Deacons

Well, after a fairly easy and impressive season opener, the Nebraska Cornhuskers get down to business with a trip to Wake Forest. The defending ACC champions dropped their season opener to B.C., surrendering five touchdown passes by QB Matt Ryan in the process. Nebraska, meanwhile, established their dominance on the ground against Nevada, rushing for 413 yards in a 52-10 victory. The Huskers were mighty impressive, and I for one expect to see them handle the Deacons will ease this Saturday. What do you think?

Wake Forest QB Riley Skinner will not play this week after suffering a seperated shoulder last week at Boston College.

Skinner is out, then, eh? Wow. That certainly tips the scales in favor of the Huskers, big time.

Re: Cornhuskers vs. Demon Deacons

This could be a trap game for Nebraska with USC looming next week in Lincoln. Callahan's teams have struggled on the road, maybe this will be the game they fnally break out big on the road.

Huskers 42
Deacons 17

I think it is a trap game and if Skinner plays Wake will win something like 28-24 but if he doesn't Nebraska will win something like 31-10

Re: Cornhuskers vs. Demon Deacons

Skinner didn't play, but this one wasn't exactly a 'gimmie' for Nebraska anyway.

According to the Associated Press, "Sam Keller nearly gave away the game during his first road start at Nebraska. Zack Bowman jumped up to take it back for the Cornhuskers... Three plays after Keller threw an interception deep in Nebraska territory, Bowman picked off a Wake Forest pass in the end zone and the 16th-ranked Cornhuskers held on to win 20-17 on Saturday."
