Nebraska senior linebacker Bo Ruud is among 42 top defensive players in the nation named to the 2007 Lott Trophy Watch List, as announced this week.
The award is named after Hall of Famer Ronnie Lott, and is awarded to college football’s Defensive IMPACT Player of the Year. Now in its fourth year, The Lott Trophy is the first college football award to equally recognize athletic performance and the personal character attributes of the player.
Ruud moved to SAM linebacker this spring after starting the past two seasons at WILL linebacker for the Husker Blackshirt defense. Ruud was a first-team All-Big 12 pick last season when he made 65 tackles, including seven for losses.
Ruud was named to the watch list for the Rotary Lombardi Award earlier this spring.
