The Nebraska football team went through its first of 15 spring practices Wednesday afternoon by working out for 2 1/2 hours in shorts and helmets inside the Hawks Championship Center. The Huskers, who are coming off a 9-5 record in 2006, are preparing for the annual Red-White Spring Game, which will take place April 14.

NU Goes Through Scrimmage Work; Injuries Hit Huskers

Having already lost RB Kenny Wilson for the year with a broken leg and CB Zachary Bowman may miss yet another season due to an injury on the knee opposite the one he hurt last year. Bowman was a 5-star recruit coming into Nebraska and his loss deeply impacted the Husker pass defense. Hopefully out of the significant number of CBs and safeties recruited from JCs this year, they may be able to fill the hole.
