Re: Nebraska Cotton Bowl

This will be a very tough game for Nebraska. Auburn's defense is fast and physical. It won't be easy to move the ball and score on them. Luckily, the Husker defensive strength is stopping the run, which happens to be Auburn's strength. I need to read more about Auburn to get a better feel for this one.

The practice consisted of several fast-paced offensive series' that saw action from players deep into the depth chart. Younger Huskers Receiving Reps

The Nebraska football team held its second day of Cotton Bowl preparations Sunday with a three-hour workout in full pads inside the Hawks Championship Center. For the second straight day, some of the more inexperienced Huskers received a portion of the practice's focus with a scrimmage to conclude the afternoon's exercises.

Been pretty quiet on the prediction front... anyone else have any thoughts about the Nebraska vs. Auburn match-up in the Cotton Bowl? I hate to say it, considering this is the Cornhusker forum and all, but I think the Tigers defense gives them the edge in this one.

Re: Nebraska Cotton Bowl

I believe Auburn is one of the most overrated teams in the most overrated conference in the nation. Nebraska will move the ball against the Auburn defense as they have moved it on everyone they have played this year. The key to the game for the Huskers is stopping Auburn's offense. With FB Brad Lester out of the game, the Auburn ground attack suffers a serious setback. He led the team in TDs this season and often cleared the way for TB Kenny Irons. Callahan has been pretty succesful in his time at Nebraska when he gets more than a week to prepare for a game.

Huskers take this one 31-17.

Re: Nebraska Cotton Bowl

Nebraska and Auburn are tied, 14-14, at the half. Zac Taylor has a touchdown pass, and Brandon Jackson added a 20-yard scoring run in the second quarter. How do you guys see the second half playing out?

Huskers Fall to Tigers in Cotton Bowl

In*a classic defensive struggle, No. 10 Auburn managed the only points of the second half on a 42-yard John Vaughn field goal in the third quarter to defeat No. 22 Nebraska, 17-14, in the 2007 AT&T Cotton Bowl Classic on New Year's Day.

Re: Nebraska Cotton Bowl

If I may add my two cents, I guess I'm a little tired of these "games we could have won". That fake punt call was stupid as hell. Also the final drive looked like it was drawn up in the huddle. It would'nt sting so much to me if this was a first time problem. But I can recall back to last seasons Texas Tech game in which Callahan seems to have problems with play calling and time management. I'm not suggesting that Callahan gets fired, but I would like to see some real improvements in Callahan's decisions. Nebraska will have a hell of a team next season, and they have a top ten recruiting class now.

Re: Nebraska Cotton Bowl

Callahan cost Nebraska that game with that ridiculious fake punt in the 1st half. Husker fans should be extremely upset because they should have won. Believe me, I know all too well about stupid coaching decisions costing my team a win.

Big 12 fans should not be calling any other conference overrated after the pitiful showing we had in our bowl games.
