The Nebraska football team held its final practice leading up to Saturday's Big 12 Championship Game matchup with Oklahoma Thursday afternoon inside a frigid Memorial Stadium. Temperatures dropped near the low 20's as the sun set on the Huskers' two-hour workout, conditions very similar to what is expected in Kansas City on Saturday night.

Huskers Prepare for Cold Conditions

I am hearing that more than 62,000 of the 75,000 seats available were sold to people with a Nebraska address. It helped that we knew a week ahead of the Sooners that our Huskers would be in this game and also helps that Kansas City is only about a 2 hour drive from Lincoln. I am glad I will be in my warm living room watching this game.

How much of a factor do you guys expect the weather to be?

The weather will be cold and possibly windy. Both teams are used to playing in the wind and they both got to practice in the cold this week if they chose to. Oklahoma also recieved snow and bitter cold temps this week so I don't think either team gets a very big edge from it.
