New NC State Head Coach

Seems like everyone and their mother and their brother and their dog have been offered and passed on N.C. State's head coaching job. So where do they go from here in the search? Who can they find who actually wants the job AND will do it better than the last guy?

Re: New NC State Head Coach

That is a tough question for one reason; Sendek was a pretty darn good coach. He may have not won any titles, but he very rarely missed the BIG dance, and was always competitive.

My guess is they look at maybe a top assistant next? But who??

Cool Re: New NC State Head Coach

They hired Sidney Lowe, didn't they? That's a pretty good pick. He was starting point guard for the '83 championship team and he has head coaching experience in the NBA with Minnesota and Memphis.

Re: New NC State Head Coach

Right, you are, Pundit. Sidney Lowe is the new coach of the Wolfpack.

"Hiring Lowe brings back a significant figure from one of the biggest moments in N.C. State's history," reports the Associated Press. "He was the point guard on the team that upset Houston and Hakeem Olajuwon on a last-second dunk by Lorenzo Charles in the 1983 final, and ranks second among the school's assist leaders and third in steals."

"Now Lowe is talking about letting his players have fun in an up-tempo offense and chasing after the top-tier recruits that seemed earmarked for those rivals just down the road -- exactly the kind of things Wolfpack fans are yearning to hear."

Sounds like he was a good choice for NC State, does it not?
