Josh Howard is a Bonehead

Okay, Josh Howard calls the Mavs last timeout with 1.9 seconds left, and ruins the game for Dallas.

Anyone seen a bigger Finals blunder?

In the 1980s against the Celtics, Magic Johnson dribbled the ball for a last shot, and forgot how much time was on the clock. The clock ran out without him ever picking up his dribble and the Lakers lost a 1 point game and eventually lost the finals in either 6 or 7 games.

Very true. That was retarded but they never should have even been in that situation. Did anybody see Wade get fouled? Because I didn't. The fact that the ref gave Wade 2 free throws on that was a crime. Wade went 1 on 3 and barely got touched. He should have swallowed his whistle. A joke.

And can they put the game on a little little later? The NBA is almost as getting retarded as MLB. That game should have been on no later than 7PM on a Sunday. Then they're goanna wonder why the NBA has no young fans.

Re: Josh Howard is a Bonehead

Guys! First, Avery Johnson is making the time-out signal in a cauldron of noise-Howarrd sees it, Aand mistakenly thinks he wants a timeout. Let's lay some of the blame on the coach, who wanted the timeout after the second free throw.
But, easily the biggest Finals mistake was when James Worthy threw the ball away trying to inbound it from halfcourt to Gerald Henderson in a game against the Celtics. It turned a sure win into an overtime loss and cost the Laklers from having a 3-1 series lead. I think the year was 1984.

Yeah, I am packing up for bed...and this thing is still on into the wee hours of the night. That was a dumb call too...I mean let them play...its a freakin final...should not be decided at the foul line unless its obvious...

Re: Josh Howard is a Bonehead

What about the Officials. Yes Josh should have made the free throws and he made a huge blunder that caused their loss. But, the officials act like some one is paying them to throw the game for the mavs. The bad calls could cause anyone to start making mistakes. What about the call when the heat through the ball back in the back court. Sooooooo obvious a bad call. Yeh you can miss some fouls?? but not that king of call. The NBA does not like owner of the Mavs, cause he sits down with his team, unlike all of the other owners. What about in game four, Dirk was repeatedly knocked to the ground. Some were not even called fouls and others should have been considered intentional. Nobody was suspended in game 4. Game three Shack elbowed both Dirk and Stackhouse. He was not suspended, WHY? The referees are rediculous. The whole thing should be investigated. What if it is true and the refs have been bought.

P.S. I agree, I never saw Wade get touched in the last foul of the game, it was a clean block. This gave him two free throws....

Welcome to GoTeamsGo Mavs Greatest Fan Mom. Nice to have you aboard. If you read my post a few entries above, you'll see that I am in total agreement with you. That call against Dirk when Wade went 1 on 3 was a joke for a regular season game much less a championship game. And the Heat have definitely gotten all the calls the last 3 games. But the good news is that the Mavs will now get all the calls. I really believe Dallas is going to blow Miami out in both games.

Dirk disappeared in the final quarter. But I couldn't help but feel that Dallas got so screwed by Bennett Salvatore in this series. Taking into consideration when it was and what it did, it that foul call on Wade might be the worst call in NBA history. Bennett Salvatore is going to have a long summer. Wait until he has to officiate in Dallas next year. They're going to have to bring in the secret service.

Re: Josh Howard is a Bonehead

Those guys were so bad!!! The refs I mean. I guess the refs obviously know that Wade is Miami's strongest free throw shooter. Dirk supposedly fouled Wade at the end, when infact I saw Wade push Dirk instead. Does anyone agree? I guess Wade is the untouchable person on the floor. I don't think I have ever seen a game when all of the starters almost foul out. To me that is unusual. I hope the referees can sleep at night, knowing their hatred for Cuban led to alot of kid's, fan's and the Mavs players came away with a loss, that should have been their win. My son was extremely disappointed, he had signed up for the free tickets win on the seventh game. I know their are others kid's that idolize, Dirk Terry, etc. and were totally disappointed in their loss. Oh, the commissioner of the NBA even acknowledged that Cuban has hurt the Mavs in the playoffs. That isn't right. How does the NBA commissioner get elected. Can't we have him dismissed and get it so that those refs are fired from refereeing in the NBA again. Everyone I talk to has agreed with me that the referee's threw the game for Mavs.

Re: Josh Howard is a Bonehead

I agree, Dirk didn't play well in the fourth and neither did Terry. I have to wonder though, let's see, we are ahead by 15 points. All of sudden Wade spends most of his time on the free throw line. Wade didn't beat us on his Field Goals, he beat us on his free throws. In fact, he played terrible. The Mavs had to quit being aggressive so they would not all foul out. I am not sure what Dallas is going to do to him, when he shows up to ref. It seems that he got away with it. Even though everybody knows the NBA doesn't like Cuban as an owner. Anyway, your thoughts would be great. I feel so bad for them.

I agree Dirk did not play good in the fourth and neither did Terry. I just can't help, but think that they won because Wade beat us on the free throw line. Infact, I think he played bad on Field Goals. It seemed a bit odd that we are ahead by 15 points and they it starts to slip away and Wade spent most of his time on the free throw line after that. Those refs knew that he could make his free throws. The Mavs had to quit being aggressive to avoid being fouled out. Everyone, knows by the NBA Commissioner's admission that Cuban hurt the Mavs chances, and it is obvious that the NBA Commissioner doesn't like him. Even though everyone mentioned that players will play for him, because he is good for the team. I am not sure how this is going to effect them refereeing in Dallas. It seems like they got away with it. By the fourth game I realized that they were not going to let the Mavs win. This isn't right.

Re: Josh Howard is a Bonehead

The play near the end of Game Six where they called a foul on Nowitski was a good call. The call was for a block; he made contact with Wade before he established position, so even though wade wound up pushing him, it was after the foul had been committed.
As for Cuban, if he would just shut his mouth and watch the game like every other owner, nobody would notice him and have any reason to carry out a vendetta against him. But he is such an egomaniac that he has to be in the spotlight. That can work for and against him, and in this series it definitely went against him.
That was Dallas' last good chance to win a title. I doubt that they will come close again anytime soon.
