| Balsillie stopped again
This from the Toronto Star:
The Nhl has again denied Jim Balsillie in another attempt to buy an NHL team. Balsillie was attempting to buy Nashville Predators minority owner William Del Biaggio's 27 percent share so that Del Biaggio could liquidate his assets (he's gone bankrupt).
The league has claimed that other owners in the league have to support a potential owners campaign for ownership and the deputy commissioner Bill Daly said this was the case. Balsillies lawyer contradicted this statement by saying Balsille had support from other owners and the excuse put forth by Daly was false.
Bettman's got a hate-on for Balsillie ever owning a team, and I'm not sure why. More of these stories make me dislike Bettman more. Balsillie is a businessman with $$ who loves hockey. what's up?
