Re: Nashville's Vokoun out for playoffs says in the paper the goalies now taking over are Chris mason, who's will turn 30 in a couple of weeks, and Pekka Rinne, who has played in 2 NHL games. Neither's played in the post season ever. To lose your hot goalie would be devastating. But then, look at the new guy who shines in the post season limelight (JS Gigeurre, Hedberg).

Re: Nashville's Vokoun out for playoffs Okay, lacking a medical degree, as far as I can tell pelvic thrombophlebitis is indeed a blood clot, usually associated with phlebitis (inflammation of a vein) that occurs following injury or alongside an infection. When thrombophlebitis occurs in the pevlis, it is usually associated with childbirth, surgery, or a similar condition that forces prolonged bedrest.

Re: Nashville's Vokoun out for playoffs What they'll have to do is put him on blood thinners, because wandering around with the threat of a blood clot could mean a stroke, anything like that. They'll have to get his blood regulated so that he is "safe'" - out of danger.
