| Re: Nashville Predators ticket drive I hope so! I'm not in a financial situation to buy season tickets, but will do my part to attend as many games next season as I possibly can. I have a sinking feeling that the plan is to try to put a non-contending team on the ice in an effort to keep fans out of the seats. But, even if they let all of our free agents go, call up the young guys and call it a rebuilding year, I still think the Preds can be competitive. I know they signed Jerrod Smithson, but let's face it, they already let Timmonen and Hartnell go. It's very improbable that Kariya will be back. If Forsberg doesn't retire, I don't see the Predators giving him the money it would take to re-sign him after letting home grown players like Timmonen and Hartnell go. Scott Nichol is a crowd favorite, so he's gone. Why bring back a guy who draws fans out to games? I thought I'd seen/heard somewhere that Hordichuck is a free agent this year, too. So, there's another one who fans love, so 'Adios' to Darcy. Vishnevski didn't even play in a single playoff game, so why pay him so much money to not even play when the team needs him most? Let's face it, if we want to keep hockey in Nashville, it will take a collective effort from ALL hockey fans (whether you're a Predators fan or not) to suck it up and fight back against the sabotage strategy already being displayed by the organization when the deal isn't even final yet! I pray that Nashville is up to the challenge, but I can't help but have my doubts. So, Nashville, let's make Balsillie and Hamilton, Ontario give back all that money their collecting for the Hamilton Predators! Let's prove that there is only the NASHVILLE Predators! |
